Help for Cybersecurity Certifications

Hi, currently I am a full-time uni student from SIM (bachelor’s in computer science) and I’m set to graduate end of this year. I am starting to get worried as I honestly feel that my degree didn’t teach me much and I came from a completely different course in Polytechnic.

I am looking to specialise into Cybersecurity when I start applying for jobs, which my degree doesn’t offer as it specialises more in AI/Web Dev/Game dev.

What I thought of doing to help my resume to get a job is to get outside certifications. I thought of doing CEH and I’ve saved up money for it but I read another post and hear that it’s not really a useful exam.

OSCP and CISSP are difficult and requires experience which I don’t have, at most I only have experience in Python from my degree and I’ve never touched on Linux (but I am planning to learn soon).

I also read that fresh grads are coming out with OSCP too, so I am wondering if i should just jump in and try to take the OSCP instead of CEH? Courses outside like NTUC are quite expensive, considering these certs will be taken out of my own pocket..

My dad is in Networking and recommended me to take ITIL which I have just signed up for too.. I also am thinking of taking the CompTIA Security+ certificate.

TLDR; I’m not sure which certificate I should take to gain advantage when applying for Cybersecurity related jobs. Currently I am going for ITIL, CompTIA Security+ and CEH as an entry level university graduate with no experience in Linux
