How would you tastefully censor nudity? Should I?

Currently doing a line of photographs for some college courses. I do mostly shock art, but stepping into this sort of thing is new territory.

In short, the photos will most likely include extremely graphic nudes. I’m very nervous about sharing my body in such a vulnerable way, even though that’s basically the premise of the piece.

How would you go about it? I feel like it would look tacky to just put a black square over stuff. Yes, I know I could just “not do it,” but I’m dead set on the idea and my mind won’t be changed.

I feel like just having my body on view is akin to porn and may not convey the artistic nature (besides the accompanying artist statement and such). So, any ideas?

Edit; I think my fear mostly comes from having peers see my naked form. If it was strangers than whatever, but these are people I’ve known for upwards of years. What if they don’t look at me the same, knowing my vulva looks a certain way?
