Am I wrong for dating someone 8 years younger than me?

(Preface: I'm going to be vague because I know people who use reddit.)

So I (m28) have been on dates with plenty of women around my age but they've all been horrible experiences, no flavour and terrible attitudes, I just got fed up and never wanted to date again. I then got introduced to who I'm dating (f20) now, we actually met through friends. She randomly brought up a topic about space and the stars and from there we got along so well. We love to explore outside wood trails and trek and go on random trips, and we watch the stars and sky. It was when we got back from a hangliding experience that I asked her out and she immediately said yes. We've been dating for the past couple of months but the friends I have and she have both think we are weird for seeing each other and that I'm predator/pdf file because of the 8 year age gap. Everytime I hear that it just makes feel horrible, I'm not into kids or teenagers.

Am I Wrong for dating this person who is 8 years younger than me?
