Life in Wellington - Would love some insights!

What’s it like making the move from India to Wellington, New Zealand? Currently, I’m settled in Mumbai with my family, living the typical city life. I’ve been working in tech for the last 8 years, primarily as a software developer specializing in C#, .NET, and Angular. My hobbies are centered primarily around arts (sketching, painting, writing) and also reading. Additionally, I love meeting new people and exploring restaurants, cafes and attending local events every weekend. I even enjoy clubbing with my best friends, every month. I'll be honest and say I am not an outdoorsy person who goes out for hikes, my major forms of workout include dancing, long walks and light runs.

Mumbai is known for its vibrant social scene and nightlife, but the constant commute, traffic snarls and population density can make life feel chaotic, sometimes leaving you genuinely exhausted. While I have a strong network of friends and family here and enjoy a busy social life, I’m financially independent and considering what it would be like to relocate in search of better job prospects.

I’d love to gain a better understanding of all the aspects of moving—social, cultural, career, and financial. What is the job market like for tech professionals in Wellington, and how does the city itself compare in terms of lifestyle and work opportunities? Is there anything I need to be aware of, in advance? And would I experience a significant cultural shift?
