A small rant about the fandom’s obsession with Sans.
(Warning, there WILL be spelling errors.) Honestly, this isn't as much of a problem now as it was from 2016 to 2021, but it's still something I need to get off my chest. Sans is overrated. Do I love him as a character? Yeah! He's chill, he's funny, he reminds me of a cool uncle. He's a fan favorite, and I can totally see why. But, there's a problem with that. There isn't a lot we know about him, or papyrus either. And because of the lack of lore we have for them, many people have put these attributes to stuff we know/don't know, stuff that x completely flanderizes them. Canon Sans is much different than the way the fanbase portrays him. Don’t get me wrong, I love undertale AUs, they’re fun, but it’s gets extremely obnoxious when it completely revolves around sans and him alone. He’s not even the main protagonist! That’s why I never really understood Inktale, errortale, dreamtale, ect, because it only focuses on him. Not papyrus, not undyne, not the dreemurrs, JUST HIM. There are so many AUs that have potential for world building and putting interesting twists on the characters and base story, but instead the fandom went "nahh let's just make it about sans." I guess that's my main issue with this fanbase...and even then, like I said, this isn't as common anymore as far as I'm aware.
EDIT: Sorry everyone, i just sorta crashed out.
