Ibuprofen for period pain on the worst days?

I know I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen but paracetamol and hot water bottles aren't working for my period cramps on the worst days... I vaguely remember my doctor saying I'll be fine if I take ibuprofen for the 2 days I need it, I've also never had a bad reaction to it even during severe flare ups, but I just wanted to check in with people who've had a UC diagnosis for a bit longer than a few months.... getting this diagnosis made me a little scared of taking any medication besides paracetamol💀
