Seinfeld was funnier than Friends

My brother mentioned to me that during his dating years he would use one seemingly innocuous question as a sort of litmus test. "Which US 90s sitcom was better: Friends or Seinfeld?" We both agree the "correct" answer is Seinfeld. Nothing against Friends (I enjoyed both sitcoms) but I can kind of see how it might be a turn off when your date's brain is unable to grasp satire. Reminds me of a friend in my circle who told me South Park was "vile and disgusting". Well, that's because it's supposed to be. I just raise an eyebrow at people who aren't able to comprehend the joke. (And I'm not saying it's appropriate to show South Park to your 5-year-old but when you're 35 years old and still not getting the joke, it makes me wonder). Popular or unpopular? You tell me folks...
