I (23f) am moving cross-country to move in with my bf (22m) in less than a month, and I don’t know what to do.
Hey y’all…I signed a lease earlier this month. I am officially added onto my BF’s lease, and I will be moving out of my home state to temporarily move with him to his grad school state.
I have visited the state I’m moving to. I went back and forth over whether or not I’m making the right choice. I feel like my BF and I have gone through some heavy relationship things. I feel confident that we’re able to overcome whatever life throws at us.
I have travel plans set in place. I have a job lined up. I have plans to visit with close friends before moving. I have plans for car insurance, health insurance, etc.. I even bought winter clothes (my home state doesn’t get too cold)!
We’re going to be back in our shared home state during the summer as well, which makes things easier.
Despite everything, I feel terribly nervous. Almost like I made the wrong choice. The issue is that I love him very much. I want to move, and this move is very temporary, but I’m still scared. Is this normal?
I think part of is it just that I haven’t discussed my expectations with him. I’m just kinda hoping that it’ll be like a sleepover, but long!!!
I’ve also had the opportunity to move in with a past partner, but passed that up because I felt like I didn’t like a lot of the qualities I saw in them when we did sleep over at each other’s place (messiness, laziness, etc.), and I haven’t seen that from my current BF. So, from that perspective, I feel like my decision-making skills are half decent.
So I guess we shall see. Hopefully it’ll be like a long sleepover!!
Just feeling very nervous, and wanted to get that off my chest.
