genuine question who pays on first date?

Everyone says the guy should pay and i somewhat agree but as a teen whos not earning anything, how can he pay everytime? i think jab tak dono mei se koi earn na kar raha ho it should be 50 50. If the guy is really nice and rich then i dont think it matters par for someone jisko waise bhi pocket money ke nam pe 50 rupee na milte wo kaise everytime he goes out spend karge 1000 2000 rupe?
