Looking out for our faculty and staff

This sub has turned so negative lately re Covid policies by admin, I just wanted to share some positive news. I taught for 11 years and then became the administrator of a rural school in Northern Michigan. We came back in person last Monday but ran into multiple positive cases. I sat with my faculty and staff after school and we COLLECTIVELY decided to go virtual for the remainder of the week. I emailed my board immediately and informed them of the situation. The board president, also a mother to 3 children in the school, called the school and thanked us for taking swift action. We pivoted to online learning at the drop of a hat, drove laptops home to kids personally and have been delivering lunches every day. I am confident we stopped this virus from spreading in our school and infecting even more people. I love teaching, I love education, and I love my team. Hang in there everyone.
