Regarding the 2 min timer THPS4 drama

Pro Skater 4 was one of my least favorite TH games. Originally, I didn't even bother to buy the bonus levels, I called it props at Zoo and just dropped the game. As a kid, several goals just completely confused me, felt way too hard, etc.

I didn't exactly know why I didn't like it, but in retrospect it was due to the lack of timer system. The way the previous games worked was so much more appealing to me, and to see them throw the entire concept out before it could reach it's full potential soured my experience with THPS4.

Anyways, I replayed it about a month ago, for the first time in like 8 years. I did enjoy it more than I initially did as a kid, but while playing through it, it struck me.

So many of these goals could've worked in a 2 minute format with some minor tweaks. Also, so many goals felt redundant. Yeah, make me do a 5k combo to make me sit through a "SAVE GAME?" screen that took longer than the actual challenge. Stop, go. Stop, go. God, that save game/stats prompt drove me up a wall.

So yeah, even before 3+4 was even revealed I was wishing THPS4 was put into a 2 minute format. I'm actually kind of suprised they're actually doing it. It being executed well is another story. It is pretty dumb they entirely did away with the goal system, I'm not going to lie, but if the backlash is big enough I could see them post-launch adding a "NPC goals" system to the game. Like how Solo Tours were added in 1+2.

Personally, this detail, while unfortunate, is far from a dealbreaker. Also, while I'm not the malicious type and I do feel bad for the people that enjoyed the individual goals format, STOP ASSUMING AND DRAWING CONCLUSIONS. WE'RE FOUR MONTHS OUT FROM THIS GAME. NOTHING HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT CUT GOALS AND CONTENT.

Seriously, I can understand why people are pissed. But grow a pair and realize that it could've been way, WAY worse. It's a miracle we got 1+2 let alone us getting 3+4. Remember when Robomodo dragged this franchise through the shit pile for 7 years? If you can handle that, you can handle this.

Sorry to sound like a dick, but seriously. Let the damn game come out, play it for yourself, and THEN you can complain about how shit the THPS4 career is. (Chances are it'll be great. Just not faithful)
