What are some games in a similar genre to doom?

What I mean by that is what kind of game has the mentality of “the best defense is offense”? I forgot the name of the genre itself but it’s essentially super fast paced FPS’ that encourage you to keep fighting in order to heal back up, where the opposite is found for things like call of duty and whatnot where your encouraged to hide behind cover to get health back.

I’ve played the entire doom series and loved it so I was just curious if there’s other games like it. I have every console plus a fairly high end pc so exclusiveness isn’t an issue for me.
