Who was wearing Cotton’s jacket?

Another thread made me wonder about this.

So, Maureen has sex with Cotton, Billy and Stu follow. I’d actually guess that while Maureen and Cotton are hooking up, they specifically steal his jacket. Wait for Cotton to leave, kill Maureen. The framing only works if someone sees someone in that jacket leaving the house.

I’d venture to guess one of them waited outside the house to notify the other when Sid was approaching the house (maybe via walkie talkie, but who knows). But they’d want the closest ringer for Cotton in the jacket.

So, Liev Scrieber is 6’3”, and Lillard is 6’4”. Skeet is 6’0”. But you’d also factor hair. Since this is a year before the events of Scream, any of the three of them could have had markedly different haircuts.

I think if I were them… I’d have Stu wear the jacket. If something about Hank and Maureen got to the police, that’s a possible motive for Billy. But if the figure Sid saw (and Cotton) had very different haircuts from Billy at the time, it would help rule him out.
