Glum future of CNY

Is it only me or is every other youngstwr in my fam not worried about the future of CNY gathering?

I went over with my immediately family to a cousin's house for Chinese New Year reunion as we did many years already. However, like always, I have to start conversation with my cousins of +-1 my age (26M). Everytime i do it sounds like an interrogation as they just give me answers and say nothing else. They don't even pretend to be interested. After dinner they just went to hide in their rooms.

Two years ago they were blatantly playing phone in front of me despute me trying to start a convo with them. They keep replying 'yes' or 'no' then go on to play.

Our parents are close to 60 and above already. The reason why our families still meet up is cos they used to live and play together. When I was younger I used to play with them always and even stayed over in their house once. Soon this link will break after a few years in our adulthood. When else do they want to start chatting?

And its not like they are bad socially. I heard from their moms that they have a lot of friends, even when they were playing phones when we met dyring past cny they were messaging friends. I'm supposed to be the socially awkward one without many friends. Even if i followed them and played with my phone there is no one messaging me.

Anyone face similar stuff? Am I the only one who feels the pressure of upholding families ties at my age?
