My cat died in the summer

And the death of Arthur’s horse (I’ve only had the one the entire game) was heartbreaking for me. The sorrow and sadness all came crashing back stronger than I ever would have anticipated.

This was my second playthrough - I knew it was coming, and been knowing all the time, but it still hit so hard.

But the scene has a strong message as well. Arthur and John’s is running for their life, but Arthur still takes time to say properly goodbye - consequences be dammed. To me, that is an important lesson: somethings are with taking your time over - even if the world around you is crazy and everybody is yelling for you to move. Take your time. Do the right thing even if it is not the smart thing.

Arthur did. With bullets raining down he took the time to said goodbye to his best friend in the word.

Nobody was shooting at me when I said goodbye to my cat in the summer, but in that instant I felt connected to him and all other who have lost a pet. A friend. A family member.
