Water coming up from old drain in center of basement despite having a basin sump pump and water tile around the entire interior of the basement.
I have water coming up from an old 1.5" drain in the center of the basement despite having a basin sump pump and water tile around the entire interior of the basement that were installed a decade ago. The drain is non functional anymore as I also had an overhead modified sewer installed years ago. This has not been a problem at all for us since the sump pump and drain tile and overhead modified sewer were installed, but this year starting about 2 weeks ago I have a seemingly never ending amount of slow moving water coming into the basement from that old drain hole. I pump it out around once an hour using a submersible pump, but the water just keeps slowly coming back. We had some heavy rains recently which I think is what caused it, and on the days we don't have rain it seems to be doing it less, but the water just keeps coming. The water does not appear to have any noticeable amounts of sewer smells associated with it, and the water itself is very clear. I just want to plug the old drain hole with cement but with the moving water I can't. Any thoughts, suggestions?
