Mac Baren Plumcake ... pleasantly surprised
With the news that many Mac Baren blends will be discontinued (Plumcake among them) I went and purchased some tins of their most famous flakes (HH series). Even though I never tried them before (I smoked mostly Peterson, Rattrays, Gawith), they were famous enough to warrant the cellaring.
I also went ahead and purchased a pouch (50g) of Plumcake as this was on the list of discontinued blends and I wanted to see if it's worth stocking up on it as well. At first I wasn't impressed, I even said to myself I don't like it. But after the 3nd, 4rd bowl this stuff starts to grow on me. I am now nearly through the pouch and I am really impressed. Smoking is slowly, it's very pleasant. I am not that much into tobacco reviews to say what exactly I am tasting and what hits my taste buds in the right places, I just know it's getting better and better.
So now I'm going to buy one or two 250g tins to cellar for sure.
In a few days I'll try one of the other famous blend I never had before: Mixture Scottish Blend. Apparently this blend won't go out of production, so there is still time to stock up if it's a worthy enough.
