Nervous about greyhound bus

Going to ride with Greyhound since Mega bus is no longer with us. I am traveling to NYC. As my traveling date getting closer, I am more nervous about the greyhound bus service. Can ppl share their experience with greyhound? (I heard it has bad reputation for not being punctual and sometimes the bus might leave earlier than the schedule. But I am not sure about how true this is for the route.) thanks :)
