Wasted time practicing for nothing

I spent like 9 days pushing my board and doing pivots and tic tac sand actually got them down around my cul de sac. But when I went to just ride down the street to a better spot I can practice on. It's as if all the time spent was for nothing. Like I actually got down to riding on one foot and pushing and stance down and I learned 180 pivot front side backside. Like basic tricks to get you riding your board. But once I started to skate down the street it's as if I never even learned all that. Like I don't know how that works. It's one thing when you step on an board your first day or two but another when you lie actually learn everything and then when you step away from your regular spot and try to ride towards a new one and it's as if the last week was a waste. Like I'm kinda done this was more discouraging than anything. If I can do it on my street I should be able to do it like going down the street. Like I literally had my balance down and everything but all of a sudden I had no balance and nothing was working the way it was already. Like I know a week is nothing but I actually got the movements down and pushed myself and learned basic stuff idk how all of a sudden the next day it's not their. I give up I don't even know why I got into skateboarding at this point
