Westernization of Islam?

Greetings,

I saw a post about women taking off their hijabs so that gave me the inspiration for this post.

Do you think Islam will get watered down enough where only the five pillars of islam are only considered compulsory?

An offshoot of this is of course scholars leaning more liberally in their judgement which can have ripple effects.

And if it declines …will it gradually get more watered down or will we see a sharp decline?
