Would a fire stick be a better streaming device than my virtual machine?

Presently I run moonlight on a windows VM that has 4 vCPUs, about 16 GB Ram, and uses GPU passthrough to include a GTX 970 to help with the streaming load (physical host is connected to the TV). It works well enough, but has all the overhead of a VM, takes up resources that could be used for other things.

I've just been wondering if a fire stick would do as good or better a job and require less management
