How would you have done Eternals?
So to say that Eternals is one of the MCU’s most divisive movies is an understatement. Some love it, some hate it, and some are in the middle (and everyone’s entitled to their own opinion of course, just as a heads up).
Me personally, I was kinda mixed. It had its moments and the characters were certainly interesting and engaging at points, but not only were there too many characters for the film to focus on or dive fully into, but the structure, pacing and overall execution wasn’t as good as I would have liked.
The only exposure I had to the Eternals beforehand was in their limited series written by recently-revealed-to-be-a-POS Neil Gaiman. I was kinda mixed on that series as well but one aspect of it that I liked was that most of the Eternals had their memories wiped and didn’t remember that they were Eternals, discovering this along with the audience beforehand.
I feel like this framework would have best fit the Eternals for a TV series, with most of the characters believing themselves to be average citizens before they discover that they have unimaginable powers and histories that they weren’t aware of before. And this way, prominent characters like Sersi, Gilgamesh and Starfox could be introduced as future Avengers (as they are in the comics). Think of it like Heroes meets Cloud Atlas.
How would you have brought the Eternals into the MCU(if at all), whether as a film or TV series? And which characters would you use or not use?
