Three months ago, we were finally able to get married. Three weeks ago, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Sorry about the food stains, we threw the scan results down in the kitchen after getting home.
My wife and I have been together for nearly 14 years. We've been through a lot together, and overcome a lot of obstacles, but a few months ago we were finally able to get married.
She'd been diagnosed with a leiomyosarcoma (a cancer of soft structural tissue) early last year - a blood vessel in her hip had been growing abnormally, and suddenly become malignant. She had surgery to remove the tumour, which at that point was over 20cm across.
A few weeks ago, we found out the cancer's returned, and has metastasised. There's a tumour in the original site, her liver, both her lungs, and several areas in her abdomen. There's no curative treatment. They gave her 11 months, give or take. She's 31.
She's decided to keep a little happiness journal of sorts on Instagram. Every day she tries to post something that made her smile. If you'd like to follow her journey, it's @aspiecat92
