Unexpected upgrade to balcony ? 1st time cruiser
I went on my 1st cruise (Divina) and had a great experience.
When I opened my door I was surprised to see a balcony, considering I had reserved an interior with no window. Although it was nice, I don't think I'd pay for one in the future. I barely used it, and mostly kept both drapes shut to keep the light out.
They said we were a little over 50% capacity, so I can't imagine they were out of interior rooms.
Is this a common occurrence for 1st timers ? And who makes the decision to upgrade - the phone sales rep, the CSR's at check-in, or an automated system ?
(note: I called in my reservation ~ 48 hours before departure, and did not request a room number)
