Looking for substitute to my G85/80
Hi, long story, let's see if I can make it quick.
I have a Lumix G85/80 since 6 or 7 years ago, I got it like new for just 300€ and I was looking for an affordable camera to make a little video documentary. At that time there were not many affordable alternatives to record 4K decently, with IBIS, good focus, not huge sized and with mic input.
The camera, despite not having headphone output and the 30minutes limitation, did, and keeps doing a great job, I would say even better than many actual cameras from other brands.
But, I have to say that even being not a big size camera, I've never liked its DLSR style bulky body and I would like to get something similar or better with a smaller factor size, ideally MFT so I can use my lenses.
What do you guys recommend?
- Smaller than the G80/85
- 40k 30fps ( ideally 60fps )
- No need to get crazy 10bit color depth
- IBIS
- mic input
- headphone jack
- no 30min limit
- Not brand new, so not hyper expensive ( around 500-600€ used )
I've been looking at the GX's but it's a mess of names and models, and I would say all of them are worst in video capabilities, no mic input or no IBIS..
Then there's the GH range, best for video but bulkier.
I discarded Olympus stuff because as far as I know, video is not comparable to Lumix,
So, is there anything matching my requirements??
I am open too to other systems if needed.
Thanks!
In parallel, last summer I got a used Jujifilm X-t20 for a good price, because I was curious about all the film simulations and the retro look, and also because it could also record 4K 30p with mic input. The results (video) have been a mix of good and bad things, overall the color science is nice, and I am happy with how the footage looks, but not having IBIS, even with an OIS lens, the stabilization is very bad compared with my G85 and focus very unstable. It's a pity because the X-t20 and its siblings are quite fancy and enjoyable and the only way to stay FujiFilm with IBIS is jumping to newer cameras that I can't afford, like x-s10 x-s10, X-T50 and so on...
