There are an estimated 620,000 people in Louisville and an estimated 5% of them are unemployed. That’s 31,000 people. So why do places keep saying that nobody is trying to work?

It’s safe to assume that not all of the estimated 31,000 people want to remain jobless. But if the job market is supposedly full of jobs, then why are there so many still unemployed? This is an absolute travesty and should definitely be addressed by our government. I’m sure that Louisville is also not the only city having this issue.

To be clear as well, 5% is just an estimate. There are estimates as low as 3% that I’ve seen as well, but following the trend that we’ve seen lands us at an estimation of 5%. The population number is also out of date, and likely higher now, so this number could be lower or higher, but it should be in the ballpark of accuracy.
