Supply vs demand: Gx 550 vs 24/25 LC
In all honesty outside of the engine and badging they are both very similar trucks. So I would think sales volume similar? Sitting at the Lexus dealer this morning for service and every GX550 on lot is sale pending… checked the next nearest two dealers and they have 0 inventory. (Both are 2+ hrs away). Autotrader shows one listed within 200 miles.
Meanwhile there are 59 new LC sitting on dealer lots within 25 miles. The overall car market is stalled across Toyota/ford/chevy/and especially dodge/ram.
Is Lexus just better at managing inventory? Is demand that much more? Or luxury vehicle owners just have a more consistent and shorter buying cycle? Is the GX finally viewed as a superior Truck to then US version of the LC. I only say superior because I would think with higher demand for the GX resale values will be higher for the GX550 in the future than the current LC. Thoughts?
