Any Improvements to Reverse Sound?

Specifically talking about the HEV--forgot to mention.
I know the reverse sound is, to an extent, mandated by law, but I personally can't stand it. Any of them, really. I've been wading through the various hybrids for the past couple of months and finally settled on getting a Tuscon Hybrid (probably 2025), but I only recently discovered how obnoxiously loud the backup noises are, particularly in the USA (overseas ones actually seem tolerable, but I hate that spaceship sound in general). I did test drives for Hyundai, Kia, and others, but unfortunately none of them involved backing up, so I didn't discover the noise until recently. Honestly, it's putting me off even considering a hybrid, but I wondered if maybe the more recent years' models have potentially improved this?

EDIT: For reference, I'm referring to this sound, which is about what it's sounded like on most US-based videos I've watched. Maybe it just sounds louder due to how the mics are picking it up? Can anyone confirm if it's actually as loud as it seems here?
