Anyone in their 30s getting hearing aids?

I have an audiologist appointment next week and I’m going to ask about hearing aids. I’m 37 and have been dealing with hearing loss and tinnitus for the last 2 years (at minimum). This was diagnosed 2 years ago following examination and a hearing test, but I feel like it has gotten worse in recent months.

I struggle to hear speech from soft-spoken people or follow along with conversations in noisy environments. It also feels like a lot of sounds and music that I’m used to are a bit “under-water” or simply not as clear, which is distressing to me. I have a very serious family history of dementia and I know that hearing loss is a major contributing factor so I’d like to try to address this as early as I can.

Does anyone else in their 30s have experience with getting hearing aids? Do you deal with any kind of stigma or judgement for losing hearing at a relatively young age? I am still unmarried and would like to find an option that’s rather unnoticeable as well, for my own vanity 😂 so if anyone has recommendations on that front “I’m all ears.”

Edit: I really appreciate the encouragement and perspective everyone here has offered. I definitely feel way more confident in this now, I’m excited to hear better!
