Highschool life in spain?

The title isn't really clear but, I'm moving to Spain and getting into ESO 3 (I think). I wanted to know how the outside life is for students in Spain, is there a lot of extracurriculars? In Canada, at least in my town, I feel like teens don't hang out at all outside of school. Is the social life of teens very big in Spain or is it pretty closed down? Are they really introverted like in Canada? I would love to know what you're experiencing if you are a teen in Spain :) I'm extremely nervous about starting school, and I'm not sure where to get my supplies and books since in Canada they give the books to you instead of you searching for them in stores. Any advice or information would be very appreciated.
