Is learning to DJ hard?

We don't have a DJ in our chapter, and usually can't afford to hire one. So music is meh depending on the playlist. I'm pretty passionate about music, and I play guitar so I understand music fundamentals. DJing seems fun and probably feels cool as fuck. Is it hard to learn? Like obviously it takes a lot of dedication to be good enough to make a career out of it, but if I just want to sound good to the average drunk dude is that hard?
