The North XL is really disappointing to me
I’m back to building a desktop PC after 10 years of using a laptop. I decided to go with the North XL Mesh case because I wanted a solid black case without tempered glass.
I got one in early December, but I noticed bent metal at the rear side and the rusty screw on the top cover.
Another thing I noticed is why this case feels so cheap—for example, the chassis metal, the plastic at the front, the rubber at wire hole inside the case, and the side panel screws that cannot be unscrewed by hand. It feels cross-threaded every time I unscrew them. Anyway, that’s just my opinion. (I might too much expect for >$200 case)
I cannot claim with the dealer because I had noticed these above defect after I have already finish built my PC. (This is my fault to not precisely check it before building)
For this feedback, I hope the FD team will improve their product quality to be more reasonable for the cost we paid in the future.

Update 2024-12-27
Guys, I have decided to order new one and hope it will have no any defects. This time, I chose the North Mesh not XL (I think the smaller size might have fewer issues 😂), but...
And the side cover screws that cannot be unscrewed

But this time, I can return it to the dealer for investigation. I hope I’ll either get a new one without any issues or a refund.
I think I will give up on finding an ATX case without tempered glass and focus on finding one with good build quality.
There won’t be a third time. 🤣
