What's your #1 BEST flipping find of all time?
Over the years I've found quite a few gems, and places where I scored multiple finds, but if I had to narrow it down to my BEST ever. This is the one. I'd love to hear yours as well.
Around 2005. I nicknamed this place "The Shoe store that time forgot". I live in Connecticut and a few towns over there is a small strip mall that has a used book store I check out when I drive through. I was with a friend and I don't recall why but she wanted to go into this very generic looking shoe store. Upon browsing we realized 75% of the inventory was manufactured Pre-1995, going back to the 80's. Most was very plain, generic branded however the back shelf had numerous pairs of Converse sneakers in a variety of colors. This was at a time when you could really only find them in White, Black and Navy. My first visit I bought about 6 pair including leather multi colored high tops. I paid $10 per pair!
I sold them for between $75 and $200 per pair.
I went back several more times. The owner was super friendly, going into the storage area to find me more pairs! I lied and told him I shipped them to Japan for resale. He was happy to unload them.
Eventually nothing but tiny sizes were left. I probably bought about 20 pair in all.
What's your BEST?
