Why gym coach obsessed with bent over row?

I've been going to my gym for about a year now, and I’ve noticed something that doesn’t sit right with me. There are 3-4 gym coaches, and whenever a beginner joins and relies on them for guidance, they almost always start them off with bent-over rows (BOR).

Now, don’t get me wrong, BOR is a great exercise, but it’s also quite technical and demanding. What concerns me is that these coaches make beginners do BOR right on day one, without any warm-up or stretching.

It feels like they’re setting people up for bad form or even injuries so they opt in for PT. Shouldn’t beginners ease with simpler movements and proper warm-ups? What are your thoughts? Is this normal practice, or is it just my gym?
