Home warranty coverage for microwave

2 weeks in to my new home , the microwave has stopped being functional. The stop, start and 30sec express buttons dont work.
We were making do with just heating things directly by using the 2 min button , but that has stopped working too.

I have Choice Home Warranty Ultimate plan

I filed a claim for my garage door, they charged me $75 trip charge, only to tell me nothing is covered under the warranty.

I want to file a claim for the microwave(GE over the range ) , but i dont want this same scenario to repeat. I called their service department to confirm what will be covered under the microwave. This was the only thing she told me

"Mechanical failure due to daily wear and tear"

Are there any home warranty experts or someone who went through this tell me if im better off buying a new microwave for $200-300, or is it worth spending $75 and get it fixed through warranty?
