old pony care
heya!
so it's summer here in australia (yay for 45 degree days not) but i was thinking the other day how much my older girl struggled last winter. she's on all the good stuff, MSM, glucosamine, 4cyte and arthropen (pentosan). but i was having to give her doses of bute on bad days. when she was ridden she would get yearly hock injections, however since a severe founder episode i've been too scared and it's been advised against.
scrolling through here i saw a post regarding previcox (i think), and was curious to know wether it would be an option to bring up to my vet. i want to keep her as comfortable as possible and i know bute will wreck her stomach (every dose i follow up with a dose of omeprazole).
does anyone have experience with keep an aged horse comfortable? she's on a track system to keep her walking.
