What locks do you use, and why?
I use a Litelok x1 u-lock because it is incredibly resistant to angle grinders. Most thieves aren't carrying around 3-5+ replacement disks or using ultra high power high quality grinders. And if they were, it will still take so long that unless it's in the middle of nowhere, someone will surely notice long before they cut though.
I combine that with a Kryptonite Fuhgetaboutit mini u lock, because it adds redundancy, but also $5000 theft insurance as well.
Together they weigh about 8lbs. Easy to carry around! They also have very smooth locking mechanisms that block out dust and water. Cheaper locks can be very finicky, and that makes it easy to break your key.
My scooter also has a built in alarm, motor will lock up too. And built in find my for gps tracking.
Chain locks are insanely heavy and offer no additional protection, just allows more options for how you can lock it.
Cable locks are no better than zip ties. $2 wire snippers can cut them in seconds.
