Mercedes Benz Club Black - a heady brew

Hello! Fellow Perfume Lovers,

Recently purchased a partial bottle of Mercedes Benz Club Black from u/AmethystCrescent. Such an absolute sweetheart! Thanks a bunch, dear, for sending it quickly and securely packed. Also for indulging me in a super fun conversation over doggos, hehe!! Felt like a Diwali gift when I got the perfume package yesterday 🥰🤩. I'm keeping an eye out for your next declutter alert, haha!

Imp. Note: This partial bottle is a year plus old and so the juice is fully cooked. One may also view this review as a maturation / masceration update.

Perfume notes, scent et al:

Top: Bergamot Middle: Incense, Jasmine Base: Vanilla, Benzoin, Woodsy notes, Ambroxan

Just work with me for a moment and smell this picture - A beautiful woman is smoking her hair with Sambrani dhoop incense while the kitchen nearby is filled with the fragrant smell of caramelized sugar, and her friends in the living room are chatting and reminiscing over rum stirred with cinnamon sticks.

That is the essence of this perfume.

A complex yet uncomplicated scent, Mercedes Benz Club Black opens with, progresses to and stays linear with a boozy, incense-y, smoked and mildly spiced vanilla and brown sugar-type fragrance. I don't get the Bergamot or jasmine notes at all. This isn't your typical Gourmand in the sense of sweet, sweet vanilla - instead, it is as though the saccharine sugariness has been toned down by smoking it out of the concoction.

An intoxicating and potent perfume, to say the least!

Longevity, Sillage and Projection: I got a good 12+ hour-long wear on skin and clothes. Sprayed just two spritzes on both surfaces on one side, and I kept getting hit by the heady scent throughout the day.

Oversprayers, beware! You'll leave a trail of unconscious people behind along with your fragrance! Less is more with this inebriating perfume. Projects a good 3 feet, if not more.

Occasion, Weather: Post sundown evening or dinner rendezvous in cooler months. Warm weather might make this perfume a tad bit intolerable and claustrophobic.

Comparable to: Lattafa Khamrah, Qahwa, Fragrance World Liquid Brun and similar such DNA. This is not to say that they all smell alike; they give out similar vibes.

Suitability: Unisex leaning masculine. As a woman who loves unique fragrances, I'm going to rock the heck out of this perfume!

Overall Thoughts: This perfume was launched by a CAR company! I mean, What?!! I think they hit it out of the park with this brilliant formula. I'm a fan for life! And this might be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer Club Black over Khamrah and the like (please don't come for me in the comments! 😩🤷). I'm looking forward to wearing Club Black on Diwali at a friend's house party at night! 🤩

Inviting a conversation over your thoughts / interest / love / dislike!

Many thanks for reading. Cheers, and keep smelling amazing!
