Mutual Aid and Donation-y organizations that can make use of/distribute more expensive stuff (Tech?)
Hello! My partner and I are hitting the road somewhat soon, and are clearing house. We're downsizing to a wild degree, and I have kept up with an unnecessary number of tech-y hobbies over several years. And, consequently, I have built up a real dragon's-hoard of random gadgets, and gizmos (I made a hobby of buying and fixing broken bits of tech, and the like).
I know full well, that I could keep selling my various things on ebay, or facebook marketplace, but, honestly? I would gladly just give it all away for free if I knew it was going to someone who doesn't readily have access to some of this stuff to begin with. What I would've done for some of this stuff when I was a broke kid growing up... So, then rises the question: Are there any good Denver organizations that will take my old tech off my hands? I know there are thrift stores... but honestly I don't think Goodwill or whatever is going to do it right compared to an org that holds, and distributes thing locally. And good ideas? I already looked into Mutual Aid Monday, and their focus seems lasered in on meeting more basic human needs... I don't think my extra cameras, amplifiers, or Arduinos are gonna feed or clothe people. But, rather than throw things out, or hoard like a dragon, I want it to go to kids, and even adults that will make use of things.
Maybe there are some makerspaces that could use some gadgetry? But then comes the issue of not wanting to just dump a bunch of disparate tech items on their teams like they're a scrapyard, ya know? Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.
