Best Platform to get Started?

I know I asked this a while back but I cannot find it. What are the best platforms to use when getting started in day trading? Are there any free ones? Also, the first year or so when you lose until, you figure out your strategy, what is a normal starting amount? Do people get started it’s a thousand? Or more like ten dollars?
