Why is it so difficult to reach Godrank?

Been using a 8* UMV, 8* Turles and a 5* Gotenks.

Im a ftp player that got really lucky on the last 3 units that released and I never had better units.

I get matched up against so many Godrank players its crazy. Godrank 39, 17, 2, 5, 7 you name it.
