Cart parking lot etiquette

Am I the only person who grabs the first cart I see when I'm walking from my car to the warehouse? As in, I don't pass the abandoned carts in parking spaces or walkways or corrals, and if I see someone finish loading their car and starting to take their cart to a corral (or to wherever they're going to abandon it) I'll catch their attention and take it from them. I figured it's easier to just grab one on the way, potentially prevent a stray cart from hitting somebody's car (or my own), and avoids the crowd of people where the carts are kept at the entrance.

I don't reserve this behavior specifically for Costco, I do it at other grocery stores, too.
