Suburbs with easy city access, good schools and affordable homes?

We lived in the city from 2018-2021 and are planning to return to the area in 2025 with our infant. We are looking at neighborhoods in the city but also suburbs.

Where can we get: -easy city access (either El access or Metra) -decent schools -single family homes under $600k
