Beginning of the end
Translation at the end:
This is an extreme oversight and a step backwards.
A flyover cannot solve the problem being faced it never has. Creating a flyover does not mean development. It adds to the congestion. They have never been proven to be usefull and are a complete eye soar. Moreover, this will have so many issues not limiting to pollution and destroying the beauty. This is a first domino to fall.
They are many pitfalls to this desicion and I feel should be on stay for better solutions adhereing to the master plan. But what are your thoughts?

City's first flyover gets green signal, High Court says no more delay
PIL settled after petitioner did not present his side: Division Bench
The way for the construction of Chandigarh city's first flyover has been cleared. The Punjab and Haryana High Court settled the PIL challenging the cutting of trees in the way of construction after the petitioner did not present his side. A division bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Anil Khetrapal said in the judgment that the matter is being settled after the petitioner did not present his side. This flyover is to be built at Tribune Chowk. Earlier on April 30, the High Court had lifted the stay on the construction of the flyover, calling it the need of the hour. The High Court had said that this matter is related to wider public interest, there has been a delay of 5 years and there should not be any more delay. 700 trees were to be cut due to the construction of the flyover. The High Court
This was the petition - 700 trees are part of the city's memories, should not be cut
While filing the petition, The Run Club had told the High Court that 700 trees planted along the South and East routes have to be cut to build the flyover and marks have also been put on these trees. According to the club, all these 700 trees have been standing green in the city for decades. These are a part of the city's memories and hence they should not be cut. There is a provision for an underpass in the master plan of Chandigarh and that is what should be built. The administration had said that 2799 plants have been planted, the project should get the green signal.
It made it clear in its order that these should be cut only at the time of starting the construction. Five times more plants should be planted in their place. Earlier, the High Court had put a stay on the construction of the flyover on 20 November 2019.
