Am I too young for cataract surgery?

F 56, I am strongly nearsighted and have astigmatism.

For about 2 years, I've had trouble driving when it's dark. Oncoming car lights blind me; those newer cars with LED lights are the worst! I also have trouble seeing in low light.

Everyone I know didn't get cataract surgery until in their 70s or 80s. My eye doctor whom I really respect says they are fairly mild. Am I too young for this surgery?
