Is a self cleaning litter box worth it?

I’m thinking of getting an automatic litter box for my cat. I’m not the best when it comes to keeping up with cleaning it and sometimes when I come home from a long day at work and my apartment smells like cat pee from a dirty litter box, it kind of gets on my nerves. But, I hear a lot of mixed reviews on whether or not automatic litter boxes are as great as they’re made out to be. Most of them are kind of expensive, and I’d hate to save up and spend a bunch of money on something that’s not worth it.

Do you have a self cleaning litter box? What brand? Is it worth the investment?
