Car insurance, asking for photos.

Has anybody ever been contacted, mid way through their policy by their insurer (Hastings in my case) asking for photos of the car inside and out, bonnet up, boot open, clocks, driving licence, etc etc

I had an email earlier on today asking for them, by the 4th of October or my policy will be amended or cancelled.

I honestly feel like cancelling it myself and going elsewhere, I had a right carry on a few years back with them when I switched cars and they ended up insuring the same car on 2 policies.
