Sugar = pain
I’ve been struggling with sinus pain, chronic headaches, and a handful of migraines a month for about six years or so. I’ve always been prone to headaches and it’s just worsened and worsened and worsened. I have worked with so many doctors and done a lot of tests and treatments. No luck, but I recently discovered that sugar is definitely a culprit.
I am still trying to figure out if I am affected by natural sugars like fruit, etc. But what I do know is that refined sugar destroys me. I have cut most sugar out of my life the last couple of weeks and when I do have sugar, I feel the worst pain in my face. My forehead, nose, cheeks, a pounding sensation in upper teeth that feels sinus related. Then of course, some type of headache.
I am not diabetic. I know sugar isn’t good for us, but I have no idea why this happens to me. It seems extreme. I would love some suggestions on topics I can research that might explain why I am this way. I brought it up to a few doctors and they don’t have a good explanation for me. I’m just so curious what this means. I wonder if I will never be able to successfully eat sugar again or if there is something within my body that I need to fix in order to be able to tolerate it again even in just small amounts.
