His Fourth Wife is His Daughters Age?!

I've been a Billy Joel fan since I was a kid and recently got to go to a concert of his for the first time. I was so excited. I made matching shirts for myself and my friends to wear. It was the trip of a lifetime to go to his show.

When I got back, I learned that Billy Joel has been married four times, currently to a woman that is the same age as his daughter.

Billy is 71, his wife is 42, and his daughter from his first marriage is 39.

This has given me the ick so badly that I can't even unwrap and hang the poster I bought from his show.

For decades and decades I've been a fan, and now I am struggling with learning an artist I love is also a person who grosses me out.

"They are both adults". Maybe someone with kids can explain to me how it's not gross to date and marry someone the same age and maturity level as your own child. I just can't seem to get past it and enjoy his music anymore. It's a HUGE LOSS for me.

How do you seperate the art from the artist?
