Tenancy by the Entirety Bankruptcy in Maryland

My husband and I want to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy together in the state of Maryland. We both have consumer debts. But they are all separate debts. We own a home together. It is our primary residence. I consulted with a bankruptcy attorney and asked if our home would be safe since we have a reasonable amount of equity. (Over the homestead exemption amount in maryland) He told us yes, in fact Maryland has a Tenancy by the Entirety law that protects your home from creditors in a bankruptcy as long as you do not have any shared unsecured debts. (Again, we do not) he has his credit card debt and I have mine. But does this still apply if we are filing bankruptcy together?

Please excuse me, but I have so much anxiety over this and we cannot lose our home. I know most responses will be to contact another attorney.. But I need someone to reassure me this attorney is right. He has 30+ years of experience I’m sure he isn’t just blowing smoke but I need to hear it from someone else. I do plan on getting a second opinion from a different attorney on Monday.
